Second illustration dedicated to a song by The Kinks: this one is for Lola.
“Well I’m not dumb but I can’t understand
Why she walked like a woman and talked like a man”
I had to play with the idea of a woman with masculine gestures, little details that made her femenine look appear a little masculine.
These are two ideas I first had: a beautiful woman from the front but a masculine gesture from the back.
The secret was doing the woman very sexy to get more contrast, and I could get it drawing her doing something very femenine like using a lipstick.
But I didn´t need to show that much: just showing her big masculine hands using a sexy lipstick was enough, so I “reduced” the idea to get the final sketch:
Just adding a bracelet to make her look more femenine and have a consistent end for her arm and making the way of holding the mirror more “delicate”, and that was it.
This is the line drawing:
There is one more illustration for the series that I will post here soon.
